Robert Junior, the late former President Robert Mugabe’s son, has been arrested on charges of malicious property damage and assaulting a Police officer. 

According to state media, Robert Mugabe Junior allegedly destroyed some cars and property during a weekend Party in Harare.

A source familiar with the situation claims that Robert Junior is currently being held at the Avondale Police station and is scheduled to appear in court today.

Robert Peter Mugabe Jr. gradually displays characteristics that most people never associated with him while his Father was alive. He is attempting to become a Member of Parliament (MP) representing his home state of Zvimba West.

Junior Mugabe was born as the apparent heir to his Father’s wealth on February 4, 1992, in Zimbabwe to Robert Mugabe Snr and Grace. Robert Peter Mugabe Jr. is now 30 years old. 

Tino, a shortened version of his given name Tinotenda, which means “Thank God,” is the aspiring politician’s nickname.

The younger Mugabe is his Father’s only surviving son. If Michael Nhamodzenyika Mugabe, his Father’s first child who died three years after his birth, is not counted, Robert Peter Mugabe Jr has three siblings.

Nonetheless, his family situation never gave him the freedom to pursue his interests. However, he played basketball with the Zimbabwean national team at various age levels.
